Abstract:

The nature of fact in the social sciences and their relation to values has been one of the most important classical and modern controversies of the methodology of the social sciences. The present article addresses the question, "Is social fact value-laden? "If so, how is the objectivity of a valuable social fact possible?". In response to this question, the three approaches of positivity, anti-positivity and post-positivity of three competing theses are discussed. The present study argues through the content analysis of Max Weber's post-positive views, which are based on Kant's epistemology and the neo-Kantian school of Baden, that in the social sciences, first; The intervention of values in the collection, recording and construction of social fact is possible, legitimate and even necessary, and therefore, social fact is value-laden.Secondly; The value of social fact is not only detrimental to objectivity but also to the subjective condition of objectivity. In Weber's approach, the values of social actors play a " constitutive " role and the values of social researchers play a "regulating" role in constructing social fact.

Abstract:

Hillary Putnam is one of the contemporary philosophers who study the fact/value dichotomy. In his thoughts, these two concepts are interpretation and even conceptually not separate, a notion named instructive pragmatism. He accuses the advocates of this dichotomy and believes that when they say morality is separate from fact, they base their trust on the supposition that they realize fact in its exact sense. He sets three reasons that lead to resorting to this dichotomy of reality/value and by rejecting all, paves the way for his criticism of this dichotomy. The drawbacks recognized by him in this context, consist of 1. conversion of a non-destructive distinction into a destructive metaphysical dichotomy, 2. The impact of science from the values in generating science, 3. existence of consensus regarding ethical issues similar to that of other domains, 4. inaccuracy in the analysis of moral judgment into the two perspective and descriptive components, 5. wrong moral thick concepts, a reason in the interpretation of facts and values. Next to accepting his thoughts, and strong points in rejecting fact/value dichotomy, we believe when he defends the character of constructive facts, the following deficiencies become evident in his views: 1. inaccuracy in changing facts due to the conceptual schema, 2. the problem of backward causation, 3. lack of conceptual competence, 4. problem of incoherence and 5. use mention fallacy. The objective of this paper is to analyze and assess the strong and weak points of Putman’s views on fact/value dichotomy.

Abstract:

Iranian rural sociology literature, shows local social action is mainly based on political economic pillars of the system of power, wealth and means of production. In other words, in this discourse, rural life is clarified in categories of "government", "Earth", "Water" and "forms of exploitation. Although the explanatory value of these categories is in contrast to self-sufficiency sociology assumption, that means, "the analysis of the social with the other social fact", but let's see what the issues related to "the social" and what level of explanation to bear. The purpose of this paper is to show the importance of “ public places” in the social reproduction of life in local communities. Article by analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the sociology of Durkheim and emphasis on post Durkheim sociological literature, introduces a form of sociological analysis called "self-sufficient and indigenous sociology" and escape from Durkheim reductionism. Self-sufficient Sociology, presents the new definition of "the social" and "right field" of sociology, a way to enter the categories of time, space, nature and the economy and juges about relationship between “ Locality” and “ community” . In this view, the confluence of mindness (beliefs and culture) and morphological structures and rural social location, are considered as foundations of creation and perpetuation of social action. This type of sociology, instead of stopping on the concepts of wealth, power and climate, focuses on the concept of " “ public places" as regulative elements of social action. Communities, places of worship, ritual, normative and exchange, are foundations of rural social action.

Abstract:

Marcel Masuss described the total social fact as events or activities that can aff ect society in all spheres, including economic, legal, political, and religious aspects. Many months after the identifi cation of the fi rst cases of Covid19, it is now apparent that humanity is faced with a total social fact, not a simple disease. The pandemic has brought considerable changes, which indicate entering a new era (1, 2). Hence, it can be argued that there is an urgent need for applying a social approach to better understand, conceptualize, and analyze the resulted transformations and reordering them (3, 4). . .

Abstract:

The ethical actions are important because of the priority of the mission goal and their close relationship with social progress and development. Therefore, the purpose of this research is the identification and social analysis of these types of actions among the verses of revelation and it deals with the effect of ethical actions in the production of social capital in the process of progress based on religious teachings and answers these questions based on the Quranic teachings. What impact do ethical actions (behavior) have on the formation of social progress? How do moral actions generate social capital and influence progress (development)? What coordinates, examples and dimensions does this group of actions have? What are the effects and consequences of this group of actions? Those actions that are desirable and progressive in the development of social interactions have been socially studied, analyzed and searched by using the inductive content analysis method. Honesty, trustworthiness and fulfillment of an obligation, altruism (Arabic: إیثار, self-sacrifice), asking forgiveness or istighfār (Arabic: استغفار ʾistiġfār), and forgiving others, kindness, non-violence, chastity and purity, patience and honesty and benevolent actions combined with social supervision have been discussed, which lead to sincerity, togetherness, coherence and expansion of social interactions and emotional relationships far from hatred and warm and emotional relationships and as a result, it causes the production of social capital and its improvement and will lead to the density of actions focused on purpose and excellence that are necessary for progress.
